Condition Surveys

To receive a 'Condition Survey' that will confirm the ventilation status of your home use the 'Survey Request' form. This will require a site visit that will result in a report that will confirm the findings and information as to whether your ventilation is regulatory compliant or not.

Each survey is cross referenced against the current building regulations with actual air flow readings taken to allow accurate analysis and solutions.

Calculations are made which are based on the property size, occupancy and number of bedrooms, as specified and detailed in The Building Regulations 2010 document F.

If your property is non compliant we will submit a proposal and quotation for the provision of a ventilation solution designed around you and your home that will remove condensation and mould from your home.

Supply & Fit Installations

Qualified engineers will install your equipment and ensure that it is commissioned and the local Building Control Body are notified.

It is a legal requirement that:

"All fixed mechanical ventilation systems, where they can be tested and adjusted, shall be commissioned and a commissioning notice given to the Building Control Body"

This will be completed on your behalf and we will ensure that applicable paperwork is issued to the property owner as your guarantee.

Service Plans

This is a working progress idea and will be optional but would allow an on-going relationship to ensure that your equipment remains in good health and provides the air flows to adequately ventilate your property.

This will allow the ventilation to be re-set to account for changes in your property circumstances or property use. The ventilation requirement is different for a 6 person family compared to a 2 person family.

In the case of 'rented' properties the 'Gold' standard will include a 12 month ventilation assessment and adjustment which will be confirmed to the property Manager or owner as part of the service.

Radon Testing

Radon is a colourless, odourless radioactive gas. It’s formed by the radioactive decay of small amounts of uranium that occur naturally in all rocks and soils.

The main danger from high radon exposure is the increased risk of lung cancer. For most people, radon is the single largest source of radiation exposure whether they are at home or at work.

According to Public Health England every building has radon and in most areas the levels are low. Some buildings in "radon Affected Areas" have higher levels. Buildings in these areas should be tested for radon. High levels can be reduced by simple building works. There are three simple steps you can follow:

1) Check if your building is in a known Radon area

2) Measure if you are in a radon Affected Area an order a radon measurement pack for your home or workplace.

3) Act if the radon level is high, you should reduce it using simple building works

Home Monitoring

What is the "Internet of Things"? - In very simple terms it is the ability to monitor something remotely by using technology to create an alert or an early warning that will allow you to respond or take action to avoid an event from happening i.e. transmitting a warning of High Humidity that could lead to Condensation and or Mould that in turn could result in property damage and or a legal disrepair case later on. This alert allows the landlord (who would be living away from the property) to trigger a visit to inspect what is going on and organise a response before any damage is done.

It is my intention to bring this technology into the 'landlorded' property sector at an affordable price to allow remote monitoring of humidity in their property portfolio.

The idea is to create early warnings to avoid misuse or non-use of ventilation equipment that will prevent property damage and legal disrepair claims for the landlord.

This may lead to other areas of monitoring including Assisted Living and Indoor Air Quality.  Watch this space for updates!
